People have heard of the laptop but when the term, "notebook computer" was first introduced it caused some confusion. Still today, many people are uncertain what this type of computer is and what makes it better or different from other options. Simply put, this type of computer is much lighter in weight than even a lightweight laptop. With this type of personal computer, weight is typically less than six pounds, making it ideal for individuals who travel on business or for college students, although anyone could use one.
Being so portable and convenient, even the display screen is unique. Designed with flat panel technologies, the quality of images is considerably high quality. Even memory for the newer notebook computer has improved. For RAM, people can now start with at least 2GB but the majority of computers now being offered also come with DDR SDRAM. This means there is more bandwidth, which helps improve the system's overall performance. In other words, the experience the consumer would get is more seamless. Size and weight are also added benefits to the more modern notebook computer. While this type of computer is small and lightweight as it is, a new model now weighs as little as three pounds without sacrificing power and performance.
One of the attractions to this type of computer is the display screen but again, new technologies have improved where now, the computer uses what is called an active matrix display, producing a vivid and clear image. Best of all, no matter the angle the screen is being viewed this display feature eliminates distortion. This makes the screen easier on the eyes and with a large, 15.43 or larger screen, an easy system on which to work or play.
